Choosing a payment option is no easy task. When looking for the right solution for DanceSignUp.com it was important that the provider have several things:

In the end we settled on Amazon Payments by Amazon.com, a household name and recognized leader in processing payments online. The best part is that you probably already have an Amazon account. So there’s nothing else you need to do to begin making payments.
The Big Advantage
The big advantage to using Amazon Payments is that no one, not us at DanceSignUp.com, or any Studios, or any Competitions will ever see your credit card information. For us, that means we don’t have to store and encrypt any of your card information. For you, that means resting easier knowing that your card is stored on one less website. That’s an important peace of mind to have when paying online. You don’t know us, we get that, but you probably know and have experience with Amazon.com.
Competitions
If you’re a Competition all you need is an Amazon Payments Business Account so that you can receive payments from people. An Amazon Payments Business Account is free to set up, just go to Amazon Payments to set one up or convert your existing Amazon account.
Amazon requires that to set up an Amazon Payments Business Account, you need a bank with a US address. If you don’t have a bank with a US address, you can’t set up an Amazon Payments Business Account at this time.
The nice part about using Amazon Payments is that you don’t have to worry about needing a merchant account or any of the messy things that come with maintaining one like minimum monthly fees, chargebacks, fraudulent cards etc. To read more about Amazon Payments Business Account check out their FAQs
Since DanceSignUp.com does not charge a monthly or sign up fee, using Amazon Payments allows us to apply a fee on each transaction. We currently charge 3% + $0.50 per transaction. Amazon Payments fees do apply per transaction as well. Typically 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. Read more about Amazon’s fees.
Payments and Refunds
Amazon Payments makes it easier to purchase at DanceSignUp.com. Just look for the “Amazon Payments” button and then log in with your Amazon.com email address and password. Choose your desired payment method and confirm your payment, it couldn’t be easier.
Refunds are issued just as easily, log in to your Amazon Payments account, choose the transaction you want to refund and then choose if you want to refund the full amount, or a portion of the full amount.
